Tony Phillips serves as executive vice president – Emerging Markets Performance Management, chief risk officer and chief actuary. Phillips’ main responsibilities include enterprise risk management, capital planning and management, and enterprise reserving.
Phillips earned his Fellowship designation through the Casualty Actuarial Society in 2000 and is a current member of the American Academy of Actuaries (AAA). As an active member within the actuarial field, Phillips has chaired and participated in several committees over the years. He’s a current member and past chair of the AAA P&C RBC Committee; and a past member of both the CAS Reserving Committee and NCCI’s Actuarial Committee.
In addition to his enterprise responsibilities and committee work; Phillips is a sought-after speaker for various actuarial venues.
Phillips holds a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Michigan State University and a master’s degree in Mathematics from Western Michigan University.
