AF Group Donates $5,000 to Local Charities on Behalf of Lansing Regional Chamber Economic Club Attendees
AF Group President and CEO Lisa Corless delivered the keynote address at Tuesday’s Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce luncheon at the Kellogg Center at Michigan State University. Corless shared an inspiring message titled, “Building Our Teams for a Strong Tomorrow,” that was well-received by nearly 450 people in attendance.
As a Distinguished Sponsor of the luncheon, AF Group also spread some holiday goodwill by offering to make a donation to two local charities on behalf of all attendees. Each participant was asked to select one of two local charities – Lansing Promise or empowHER – and AF Group then made a $10 donation in the individual’s name. Attendees were also invited to match these contributions and increase their contribution. Once tallied, AF Group will issue checks to both organizations that will total $5,000.
Lansing Promise provides tuition assistance for post-secondary education for all eligible high school graduates in the Lansing School District.
EmpowHER conducts an annual spring leadership retreat for fourth- through ninth-grade girls focused on helping them embrace their strengths and differences and build their self-confidence.
“In support of Lisa’s message that Lansing is a thriving place to build a dynamic workforce, we wanted to demonstrate AF Group’s commitment to giving back to the Lansing community,” said Sarah Garcia, manager of Community Relations at AF Group. “It is exciting to support two organizations who are making a powerful difference in mid-Michigan and to provide the opportunity to support Lansing Promise and empowHER as well.”
